Concrete Mixing Semi Trailer — What Drives the Price
Two concrete mixer trailers with the same drum size can differ by a wide margin in price once you compare what is actually fitted. Before you compare quotes from different factories, it is worth knowing which items move the number — and which items a low quote has usually left out.
What actually changes the price
- Drum volume and drum drive — the tank size, and whether the drum is driven by the tractor’s PTO or by its own engine. Volume is set against your mix design, not picked from a catalogue.
- Main beam and plate thickness — the published build uses a special-design I-beam in Q345 high-strength plate, welded by automatic submerged-arc process, with 6mm plate.
- Axles and suspension — the published configuration is 3 × 13 tonne on mechanical suspension. Axle brand and rating are the usual place a quote is trimmed.
- Water and admixture systems — tank capacity, metering and wash-out plumbing.
- Paint and finish — sand-blasting plus primer and topcoats, versus a single coat.
