An 80 tonne lowbed for heavy construction plant
The 80 tonne class is where lowbed trailers stop being general-purpose. At this payload you are normally moving something that is both heavy and awkward — a large excavator, a mining loader, a piling rig, a section of plant that cannot be broken down for transport.
Two things change as the load goes up. The first is load distribution: the same gross weight spread across more axles and more tires means less stress per contact patch, which matters most on the surfaces heavy plant actually works on. The second is deck strength and the way the cargo is supported along its length, because at this weight a single unsupported span is where a frame starts to fail.
We build this trailer on our standard lowbed platform and then match the running gear to the job. Documented axle options run to 13/16 tonne ratings in Fengbao, FUWA or BPW, with 3 or 4 axles selectable.
